Wolfgangsee Tour with boat trip to St. Gilgen
A challenging eMTB tour with all the delicacies that the western Salzkammergut has to offer.
The e-bike tour to St. Gilgen has a lot to offer. Excellent prepared and car-free forest roads, numerous refreshment stops, fantastic panoramas and views of the region and the absolute highlight of this tour: the boat trip across Lake Wolfgang.
Your trail also starts this time at Hotel DAS Hintersee. From here, the trail takes you in the direction of the famous Königsberg alpine pastures, over the Breitenberg to Abersee. Here you will meet the historically important Ischl railway line, which you follow to Strobl. From Strobl, a cycle path takes you straight to St. Wolfgang, the most famous town on Lake Wolfgang. Here you can now decide whether to ride your e-bike along the shore of Lake Wolfgang or take the boat across Lake Wolfgang to St. Gilgen.
From St. Gilgen you follow the old main road to the district of Mühlbachsau, which you cross and follow the new main road to Fuschl. Attention: at kilometre 43, a short but technically challenging and above all steep passage awaits you. Don't be ashamed to push your e-bike if you feel safer that way. Alternatively, you can also bypass this technically challenging section by following the cycle path along the new federal road in the direction of Fuschl. Here you will again encounter the original route.
From Fuschl, the trail now leads you over the Perfalleck, into the Tiefbrunnau, then in the direction of the Schafbachalm, from where it is only downhill back to the starting point of the tour in Hintersee.
