The Gasthof DAS Hintersee is located in the village of Hintersee, in the heart of the spectacular Salzkammergut region. Tradition is combined with elements of modern style to create an atmosphere of comfort and charm in the Gasthof.
Traditional culinary delights
If you love authentic Austrian cuisine, you've come to the right place. Our head chef Anton Lanz and the kitchen team create simple, home-style meals using the finest, freshest ingredients the region has to offer. The selection includes trout from the nearby Fuschlsee lake, beef dishes featuring local Hintersee produce, authentic Salzburg inn-style pan-cooked meals and plenty of options for our vegetarian guests as well.

The Auhof Stüberl
If your kitchen arrangements at home should come to a halt, our rustic Auhof Stüberl dining room is the perfect choice for a cosy get-together in a rustic, homey guesthouse atmosphere. This venue can seat up to 35 people. The Königsberg Stüberl
As you might guess from the name, our Sonnberg Stüberl dining room offers an uninterrupted view of the Sonnberg mountain. The attractive glass front of the restaurant creates a particularly warm, bright atmosphere. Up to 40 people can enjoy a relaxed meal in this venue. The perfect option for relaxation after your long day's hike.
The epicentre of the Gasthof & Restaurant
Our modern yet traditional Gasthof and restaurant area with seating for up to 80 guests is located in the centre of DAS Hintersee. This venue has been designed with loving care, and allows guests to immerse themselves in the very same spectacular mountain landscape of the Osterhorngruppe through which you can enjoy a range of eMTB tours.
The Feichtenstein terrace
A fabulous open-air experience! Our sun terrace offers a spectacular view of our local mountain, the Feichtenstein, with seating for up to 100 guests available for large functions.
The Sonnberg terrace
As you might guess from the name, our Sonnberg terrace provides an uninterrupted view of the Sonnberg mountain. Enjoy your breakfast in the morning sunshine and relax in the comfortable atmosphere. The Sonnberg terrace is the perfect place for up to 40 people to enjoy some quality relaxation time. The ideal option for unwinding after a full day on skis.
