Glöcklerlauf & Three Wise Men in Bad Ischl
A centuries-old custom in the Salzkammergut is the "Glöckeln" Dressed in white and wearing elaborately decorated headdresses, the bell ringers parade through the town centre of Bad Ischl, symbolising the cycle of nature. The procession is said to drive away evil spirits and bring blessings for the New Year.
On 5th January, the "Three Wise Men" ride into the centre of Bad Ischl together with torch bearers and singers. The holy kings and their horses are beautifully decorated
